The Portillo's Italian beef kit includes everything you need for the perfect Portillo’s beef sandwich, right at home.

Each Portillo's Italian Beef Kit is packed with:

  • 2 lbs. of Portillo's Famous Italian Beef
  • 2 qts of Portillo's signature gravy
  • 8 bake and serve Italian rolls
  • 8 oz. of Sweet Peppers
  • 8 oz. of Hot Giardiniera

Stove top heating instructions for Portillo's Italian Beef:
• Place entire contents of gravy bucket in large sauce pan.
• Heat until it reaches 180°.DO NOT BOIL. This takes about 20 minutes.
• Open Italian beef pack and separate beef slices. This creates a more flavorful and tender beef sandwich.
• Add enough Italian beef slices for 2-3 sandwiches at a time and heat for about 1 minute. Add beef in small increments as needed.
• Take temperature of gravy while heating Italian beef. The temperature should stay between 165° and 180° for best results.


French Bread:
• Place rolls on cookie pan 2" apart and bake at 450° for 5 minutes.

Microwave heating instructions for Portillo's Italian Beef:
• Place entire contents of gravy bucket in microwave safe bowl and heat for 5 minutes. This includes any solids or spices.
• Stir contents and then heat for another 4 minutes while separating the Italian beef slices. The temperature should be 180°. DO NOT BOIL.
• Take bowl out of microwave and add enough beef for 2-3 sandwiches and stir in for about a minute. Take temperature as you add beef.
• If the temperature falls below 165° remove beef, return to microwave and reheat for 2 minutes.
Food Safety Caution: The beef and gravy in this package must be at 40° or colder upon receiving it.

    Not as good as usual

    We order Portillos several times a year. I’m a Chicago native, transplanted to Missouri. This time the meat was extremely dry. In both batches. I love being able to mail order this, because I miss the food from home. But it’s a lot of money to spend for such a disappointment

    Portillo’s Italian Beef Still Brings The Flavor

    Portillo’s beef kit is a necessary addition to any relocated Chicagoans. Yes, you can make your own if you have culinary skills, but it still won’t have the signature Portillo’s flavor you’re looking for from Chicago’s premium beef sandwich.

    Order # 118456 - very disappointed

    Ordered six pizzas on the 14th. Never received my bonus coupon of $25. I have called customer service several times and gotten no satisfaction. Extremely disappointed!

    Good stuff.

    We have been getting the Italian beef for years. My mother first sent it to us for Christmas. And we looked forward to it every year. We now try to get it once or twice a year. It is great!
